Concealed Carry Lawsuit

08/04/2016

utexas2

Three professors at UT in Austin have filed a lawsuit against the state of Texas over the new concealed carry handgun law that went into effect August 1, 2016. They want the law repelled because they feel unsafe with students carrying guns because of the subject matter taught in there classes. A sign on a door stating that firearms are not permitted will not stop a person from entering with a firearm. It is very possible that the day will come when someone will enter the classroom and start shooting. If that day comes, the professors would most certainly be grateful that someone in the classroom had a firearm to take the shooter down.

Throughout my working life, I never once thought that an employer of mine would change his policies because I didn’t like what they were. I could not imagine me going to my employer and telling him that I didn’t like the way that he was running things. It would seem to me that the only recourse a person would have if his place of employment enacted new policies, or had policies in place that the employee was not aware of at the time of being hired, would be to find employment elsewhere.

The lawsuit brought on by these three whiny professors is indeed frivolous. They should not expect the state to change laws just to suit these three individuals. These three professors need to “suck it up”, quit their whining, and do their job….. Or leave!

Federal Blackmail

The Obama administration is blackmailing the state of Texas, and other states, by threatening to withhold federal funding if the states do not comply with the LGBT laws. One, in particular, is the so-called bathroom law which allows males in female restrooms, and vice-versa.
Texas should continue to reject these laws that allow transgender perverts into restrooms of the opposite sex. The state could/can easily fund its schools without the help of the Federal Government. This can easily be accomplished by using “all” the funds generated by the state lottery, which, by the way, was first intended. Just 27% of the $4 billion in lottery ticket sales goes to fund schools. Our schools are spending way too much monies on sports. If need be, to make up for any shortfall, funds could be cut in this area. Especially, in recent years, the construction of football stadiums that costs in the millions and millions of dollars. They are now giving credits to those students who play sports. Reading, writing, and arithmetic should take precedent over all else.
Texas schools receive 12% ($5.6 billion) of their funding from government subsidies. And, as was stated above, the Texas school system could easily fund itself without help from the Federal Government. Texas should tell the Obama Administration to: “Take it’s money and shove it.”

You Can’t Change History

04/21/2016

George-Washington-Mount-Vernon-1853-631.jpg__800x600_q85_crop

Slavery is as old as human civilization, and is not unique to any race. Throughout history slavery has adapted fluidly to a changing world order, as it continues to do today. There is a crusade in the United States to remove all statues of generals of the Confederate States of America. They also want to remove all monuments connected to the Confederate states, and to take down all Confederate flags. This is all because of their association to slavery. This country, the United States of America, was founded on slavery. Fourteen of the founding fathers owned slaves. Furthermore, twelve presidents owned slaves….eight of them while serving in office.
Okay, so y’all want to remove statues and monuments. Well, I suggest the first place to start would be the George Washington monument. George Washington, the father of our country, was a big slave owner, and at the time of his death, his estate. enslaved three hundred and eighteen people (all of them black). We also honor the man by putting his likeness on our currency: the one dollar bill, and a twenty-five cent coin called the quarter. But let’s not stop there! How about the state of Washington? It’s obvious that that can’t be moved, so a name change will have to suffice. Also, in the name of this great slave-owning man, there are counties, townships, forts, parks, neighborhoods, institutions, geological features, municipalities, and many streets, here in the United States, and around the world. There are also many other statues and monuments scattered around the United States that honor leaders and heroes that helped to build this country who were slave owners.
So…..do we take this enormous task of removing and renaming, or do we just admit that the removal of all Confederate mementos was a bad idea, and forget the whole thing?

The past has already happened. We can’t change it.

Child Labor vs. Pitchin’ In

11/22/2011

Some schools would close during cotton season..

Is it child labor when a young boy of six years gets off the school bus at the cotton field and drags a cotton sack made out of a burlap feed sack that his daddy had made for him because he was too little to pull a real one? Just to mention one aspect of life on the farm. It’s called “pitchin’  in” to help.  Child labor laws do not apply to kids on the farm.   Newt is right, get the kids off their butts,  and let them “pitch in”.   There is a lot to be said on this subject. (TIALTBSOTS)  hs

O, I wish I was in the land of cotton
Old times there are not forgotten
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land.
(lyrics, Dixie Land)

Guilty By Association

08/09/2011

This is the "Promised Land" for liars.

Most of us know that politicians lie. A candidate tells us of changes that he will make. Changes that some of us believe are very important, and we foolishly believe that maybe this guy will do what he says. A real smooth talker, this one.
Promises are made during campaign speeches that never materialize. Senator Hot Air Pooey is standing before the crowd pounding his fist on the podium. “If elected, the first thing I will do as president is close the military prison on that island!” There are a lot of voters that would like to see that prison closed (misinformed voters, I might add). That prison was built for a very good reason, and it needs to remain in business. Well, we all know that that prison is still operating. That single lie could have very well given the senator enough votes to get elected.
The truth be known, the country was actually in pretty good shape when election year came upon us. But a lot of folks were taken in by these politicians running for president, and were convinced the country was in bad shape and in dire need of change.
It would be interesting to have the figures for the number of votes gathered by the promise to bring the troops home. Well actually, some of the troops did come home. In a body bag! The wars in the Muslim countries are still being fought, and the lying senator is still president. Christians (true believers in Christ) fear the Lord. If a person is a Christian they should definitely be afraid of going against God. I read in “the book” that God didn’t want us to lie. Now, a good Christian would not do such a thing, just for the simple fact that they would burn in Hell for doing so. I’m talking about being cast into a fiery lake of sulfur to spend eternity. Eternity is a long time; no day, no night, just forever and ever. One should give much thought before going against one of God’s commandments. Lying is number nine on a list of ten commandments that God expects us to obey. If you are one of the unlucky voters that got sucked in by the lies of this elected senator, you might want to take a step back. On second thought, you should do more than that. You should distance yourself as far as possible. Some say that there is guilt just by association.

Are You A Hypocrite?

11/15/2010

The destruction of evil.

Are You A Hypocrite?

I am repeating myself here, but here goes. I am not a trained speaker, or even a speaker for that matter. And I am not a published writer, unless you count a few “letters to the editor” as being published. But….I do have knowledge.
Let’s talk about Hypocrites. Definition: A person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not possess. As we are all sinners, so are we somewhat hypocritical. We sin and accept within ourselves that it is okay, because God will forgive us. Who is going to forgive you for being a hypocrite? I believe that that would be left up to you. Only you can change your deceitful ways. Better grab a-hold of something, because here we go! Do you like homosexuals? Let me answer that for you. If you are gay, you do, and if you are not, you don’t. Are you a hypocrite? I say that the majority would be so inclined. I suppose we have all heard of the generation gap. Well, it has never been more real than today. Me and my older generation were taught to believe in the bible. And that includes the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. With the direction that the “world” is headed in these modern times, fire and brimstone will once again rain down from Heaven. As a “letter to the editor” wrote: Our children are being brainwashed into believing that being a homosexual (faggot) is morally good. If a Muslim believes in the Koran, and follows its teachings, we Infidels call that person a terrorist. And if a Christian believes in the Bible, and follows its teachings, that person is called a fanatic. What I am trying to get across to you people, is that homosexuality is evil. Gays and Lesbians are not only going to destroy just themselves, they are going to take the rest of us down with them. I do believe in God and the word of the Bible.

State Song of Texas - First verse and chorus

Fellow Texans: Governor Perry is doing great in looking after Texas. To me, he seems to deeply care about what happens to this state. That other fellow, the one who wants to replace him, will not be good for Texas. He is probably good in a business sense, but Texas is not a company to be run for profit. Let’s keep our Texas values, and our Texas pride. We do not want to turn our state into something that resembles New York. I am proud to be a Texan, and I am proud of Rick Perry. I voted for him! fhs

Ask Me – I’ll Tell

10/16/2010

Limp wristed need not apply

 Ask Me – I’ll Tell

I’m a little surprised at the lack of negative response toward the latest ruling by a federal judge allowing queers and lesbians to serve openly in the military. In the near future, joining the military will be like joining a gay-rights’ organization. And if you are not, well, just a little bit gay, you won’t feel like you belong. As far as I know, people who are not queer do not frequent “gay” bars, so why would a person who does not associate with those kind of people even consider being a member of an organization saturated with homosexuals. Barack Obama has spoken; and I quote! “This will happen, and it will happen on my watch.” And he added, “We are in a war right now.”
He wants to stall the judge’s ruling until the fighting ends in Afghanistan , and I guess that when this mess that we are in now in Afghanistan is over, there won’t be any more wars to fight. “Do ya think?” The United States military will no longer be a force feared by our enemies. What enemy is going to be afraid of a bunch of guys standing there, waving their arms, and yelling “yoo hoo”? The military is supposed to ask its members how they feel about this matter. If they would let them vote on it, I think we all know what the outcome would be. As I am not an active duty military man, they will not be asking my opinion. I am a Marine, and a combat veteran of the Viet Nam war (1966 – 1967). I believe that I have a right to have a say in this matter of homosexuals in the military. In my opinion, it sucks! fhs

Not Sent To The Editor

10/04/2010

It's a start!

 Not Sent To The Editor

I wrote the following to be sent as a “Letter To The Editor” to my
local newspaper, but did not submit it. I thought instead, I would
put this piece of writing on the Web, and share it with the world.

Two Writers Dissatisfied With Obama

The people that voted for and elected Barack Hussein
Obama and “his” Democrat Congress are the ones
responsible for the current condition of this nation. There
is no shame in admitting that you made a mistake. It is
not too late to reverse the damage. Remember that those
of you who voted for Obama, and especially those of you
that voted straight ticket Democrat are the ones
responsible. I don’t think that there should even be such
a thing as straight party voting where one click does it
all. It’s too easy, and shows signs of laziness and the
need to hurry. One should at least take the time to go
down the list, read the names, and then pick the candidate
of his/her choice. The two “letters to the editor” in
today’s paper (Sept. 27th) were both related to the rising
costs of living in this country. To me, that signifies that a
very large number of citizens are dissatisfied with the
president they elected. The economy is but one of the
problems that face us as a nation. Obama and his
administration has created a list too long to mention here.
In November, we can slow the progress of destruction,
and in two more years (2012) we can stop it altogether.
Remember, only you can stop the destruction of a nation.

Gays In The Military

09/23/2010

Our military will be as strong as a limp wrist.

Gays In The Military

Now that is some title. A more appropriate title for this piece of writing would be “Faggots In The Military”. It is a bit confusing to those of us that know the real definition of the word “gay”. Being gay means being “carefree”, “happy”, or “bright and showy”.
In these modern times, when one has to be politically correct to get re-elected, one has to use the politically correct words. Meaning that you should use the word “gay” when referring to homosexuals instead of “faggot”. Using the word “faggot” in referring to “gay” people has been traced back to 1590 France. I guess the word “queer” would be correct in referring to homosexuals, as the word means unusual. But not politically correct.
It just does something to me when they take a good word, such as gay, and turn it into something ugly. Look what the homosexuals have done to the beautiful rainbow.
In years gone by, 1965 – 1967 to be precise, the Drill Instructors that trained us in Marine Corps Boot Camp often used the term “faggot” when addressing us boots. Their goal was to break us down, so they could re-build us into Marines. Being called a “faggot” meant that you were the lowest form of human life on the planet (which is true with homosexuals). We took it, and we were made into Marines. I cannot imagine being in the military today and being ogled over by “faggots” while in the shower.
The battle today (2010), here in the United States is far more dangerous to this country than was the Viet Nam war. I’m talking about the fight to preserve our way of life, and to not lose our Christian values.
This country (the United States) needs a strong military. A military with strong personnel that will fight for it’s flag, and that for which it stands. I cannot understand how a military made up of limp-wristed faggots and illegal aliens can make for a strong military force. The illegal aliens that I am referring to is mostly immigrants from Mexico. Suppose we were to go to war with Mexico. Would the illegal aliens (Mexican Nationals) fight to the death for the United States, or turn on us and side with Mexico. This is an issue that cannot be taken lightly. Moreover, giving citizenship to illegal aliens who join the military will just encourage more illegal entry. That would mean illegals coming into this country for the sole purpose of joining the military. A strong military? Think about it!
